    Free server image backup software

    Hi,

    I am Looking for a FREE Image BACKUP Software for a Server, Are there any free software available ? Im running a Windows 2003 Server and the NTBACKUP is not working properly, is there any powerful network backup solution for Windows 2008/2003 Server and Vista/XP/2000 OS. I was hoping to find a replacement in a form of another software.

    Handy Backup Server is a powerful network backup solution for Windows 2008/2003 Server and Vista/XP/2000 OS. Centralized workstation backup and an ability of fast system recovery make it one of the best utilities for backup and recovery of the entire office network or a local server.

    • Centralized remote administration. All workstation backup tasks are managed by a central server and require no user intervention;
    • Automatic backup. Performs automatic backup, restoration and synchronization of multiple servers and workstations;
    • Database backup. Backing up of all ODBC databases on the central server, can backup MS Exchange, MS SQL and Lotus Notes on both server and workstations;
    • Hard disk backup. Supports creation of server image backup and image backup of workstations;
    • Backup storage media. Backup to CD/DVD, USB and FireWire drives, network backup to FTP, SFTP, LAN, online backup, etc;
    • Convenience of network backup. Workstation backup requires minimal system resources and runs without slowing remote computers.

    You can use BackupPC, its a high-performance, enterprise-grade system for backing up Linux, WinXX and MacOSX PCs and laptops to a server's disk. BackupPC is highly configurable and easy to install and maintain. with BackupPC No client-side software is needed. The standard smb protocol is used to extract backup data on WinXX clients. On linux clients, tar over ssh/rsh/nfs is used to backup the data. With version 2.0.0, rsync is also supported on any client that has rsync or rysncd.

    Clonezilla is best for you, it is based on DRBL, Partition Image, ntfsclone, partclone, and udpcast, it allows you to do bare metal backup and recovery. Two types of Clonezilla are available, Clonezilla live and Clonezilla SE (server edition). Clonezilla live is suitable for single machine backup and restore. While Clonezilla SE is for massive deployment, it can clone many (40 plus!) computers simultaneously. Clonezilla saves and restores only used blocks in the harddisk. This increases the clone efficiency. At the NCHC's Classroom C, Clonezilla SE was used to clone 41 computers simultaneously. It took only about 10 minutes to clone a 5.6 GBytes system image to all 41 computers via multicasting!
