    Outlook prompting for password

I had installed Windows Xp along with Microsoft Outlook 2003 on my system. I have a POP3 email account been setup on my ssytem. But from last few days when i try to open the application it prompts me for my password. This same box pops up throughout the day until i try to close down the application. Can any body tell me that why Outlook keeps on prompting for password? What camn i do in order to get rid of the above issue? Kindly provide me the solution to resolve the above issue.

For that you need to click on your start menu and then select Run. Then you need to type in "control keymgr.dll" without the quotes in it. Then you need to click on Add and then try to fill in the following information

    1. First the name of Name your server.
    2. The your Username and that should be in "email" format.
    3. Then you need to enter your password.

    Re: Outlook prompting for password

When you use the default Exchange Server POP3 or IMAP4 authentication setting (Clear Text Authentication), set your POP3 or IMAP4 account name to include the following information:NTDomain\NTDomainID\ExchangeMailAlias

To find your account name in Outlook Express:

    1. On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
    2. Click the Mail tab, and then click your mail account.
    3. Click Properties, and then click the Servers tab.

For more details, you can check out the following link. Hope so it may help you to resolve your issue.

Try to follow the below steps mentioned.

    1. On the Tools menu, point to Send/Receive Settings, and then click Define Send/Receive Groups.
    2. Click the Send/Receive Group that you would like to configure (the group "All Accounts" (without quotation marks) is created by default), and then click Edit.
    3. In the Accounts box, click on one of the duplicate accounts.
    4. Click to clear the Receive Mail Items check box.
    5. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for all other duplicate accounts.
    6. Click OK, and then click Close.
