linked to missing export shell32.dll:shgetfolderpatha

Lately I have installed Acdsee pro on my computer and it installed fine but when I try to start it I get an error message: "The SHELLINTMGR31.DLL file is linked to missing export SHELL32.DLLHGetFolderPathA". So can anyone tell me how to solve SHELL32.DLLHGetFolderPathA error message. Thank you

Download a fresh copy of shell32 and saving over the old one.

If you only get the error when you try to do a certain thing, search on the web using both the error message and something about what it is you were trying to do when you got the error.
e.g. "missing export SHELL32.DLL" "(name of program)"
or
"missing export SHELL32.DLL SH GetFolder Path A." "(when you do what)", the latter with or without the quotes.

I found this issue on another tech help site. According to a programmer. The language of the error message leads him to believe it is a programming error by Microsoft. Here is the language of the post:

"Seems to be a bug - SHGetFolderPathA is only implemented in Shell32 on 2K machines. As an afterthought, a "look-alike" version was later implemented in shfolder.dll, and distributed with most versions of IE. Per MSDN, devs are supposed to call SHGetFolderPathA from that shfolder.dll, regardless of OS version... on 2K boxes, it'll be passed onto the "real" one in shell32, and on NT/ME/9x, shfolder will emulate it as best as can be. MSDN says in no uncertain terms that the implementation in shell32 should effectively be ignored.

So I would first try to uninstall and reinstall Acdsee Pro to see if the shell32.dll problem gets solved.
