    How to delete NProtect Folder

Actually, the folder named NProtect exists in my computer which stores the details of all the activities that I implement in the Norton. The NProtect folder also stores all the items which I have deleted while writing a DVD using Norton. It seems that this folder stores all the unwanted files and consumes the memory unnecessarily. Can anybody please suggest me how can I delete the NProtect Folder ?

    thank you...

To remove/delete the items/files from the NProtected Folder :

    follow the instructions -
    1. Click the 'Start' button and select the 'Run'
    2. Copy - paste the following text : rmdir /s \\?\C:\RECYCLER\NPROTECT
    3. Click the 'OK' button

After following the above instructions, the NPROTECT folder and its contents would be deleted from your system. You can check this by allowing access to hidden files and folders - access your main drive (usually C: drive) and double click the now visible 'Recycler' folder. This should no longer contain a folder called NPROTECT.

NPROTECT is the folder for the Norton Protected Recycle Bin (NPRB), which "adds extra, configurable data-recovery protection to the Windows Recycle Bin to help you recover deleted files that the Windows Recycle Bin would not."
The NPROTECT folder is added to the Recycle Bin folder normally located at C:\RECYCLER.

That will not work. You will need to re-install Norton Utilities with Norton Protection enabled.

After this, Restart Windows, and then right-click on the recycle bin icon, there select properties/Norton Proctection tab.
    Select Remove Norton Protection.

Making sure that the line for emptying files is also checked. If that line is not checked it will not remove the files and may cause problems for scandisk and/or defrag.
