Sqlconnection state in C#.Net

I have created a sql connection. But when the network cable is unplugged it doesn't detect the state of the connection and states as open. Is there a way wherein i can detect the network status instantly so when i use this method it would return the network status as open or close..? hope someone help me...

Re: Sqlconnection state in C#.Net

There is no way to identify is the network cable is plugged or unplugged, you can try this out. Send a query to the server everytime and if it returns and error then you can figure it out yourself... Or run some server query at regular intervals to make sure that the connection is up and running...
