Office 2003 shows error "applying transforms"

I'm running Windows Xp as my operating system. Just few days back i had uninstalled Microsoft Office 2003 from my system. But when i was trying to re-install it back on my system, it showed me an error message stating "Error Applying Transforms. Verify That The Specified Transform Paths Are Valid". Can any body tell me that what does this error means? What can i do inorder to get rid of the above issue? Kindly provide me the correct solution for the above issue.
