download of file stucks half way

it is excruciating experience when it comes interrupted while downloading a file from a certain website. if it is got stuck when with huge files while it is about finish ,it really hurts..'ave you guys faced this traumatic situation...have any one aware of the remedy for the probelm..nice opinions welcomes...thanks in advance..!!!!

1) upgrade to firefox . then if they stop working pause and resume them or stop then start them (firefox 3b5 enables you to close firefox and re-open it whilst downloading [and the download resumes])
2) use a download manager add-on for firefox (e.g. downthemall)

it may not problem with your part.can be the error from the server side also....

before that What is it you're downloading??? it could be the server cutting you off

are you running out of space in your hard drive??

if you are using a PCI network card (WiFi) some times internet goes down. I prefer a Ethernet cable because you dont have to frustrate about the server going out, or too many internet programs are going on at once?
