Hey you find two copies of odbcad32.exe on Windows Vista x64 on your system. One is stored at c:\windows\system32\ and another you can get it underc:\windows\syswow64\ You need to run c:\windows\syswow64\odbcad32.exe on your system.

I think you might be having a versioning issue while using MDAC between the two operating system or it might be even a security issue on your Windows Vista. Have you heard about Vista UAC manifest program that may need to use in order to present security credentials for an application running on Windows Vista? I don't think that you should expect something that runs on XP, may also be able to run on Windows Vista without some possible tweaks on it.
