Nero 8 doesn't find dvd burner on Windows Vista

I'm running Windows Vista as my operating system. I had installed Nero 8 on my system. The problem is that whenever i try to burn any dvd disc on my pc, Nero i unable to find my dvd burner on my pc. Can any body tell em that why i'm having such problem on my system? Kindly help me out to get rid of the above issue.

Have got the same version of dvd burner that came with your Nero 8? If, yes then it should detect it. If you are using the original version of Nero with some other dvd burner, then the original version of Nero would not be able to find some other dvd burner that you had installed on your pc.

Check out whether the dvd burner files are not corrupted on your system. Try to uninstall it and then try to reinstall it back on your system. It may be due to corrupted files on your system which may not allow your Nero tofind the dvd burner on your system.

You can also try to check out the registry entries of your Nero which you had install on your pc. I was also facing the same problem with Nero before, until i tried to use the registry in order to remove all instances of Nero and then tried to reinstall the previous version. Be careful with your registry, because it can harm your system.
