Paypal fatal error

I am facing an issue with my Paypal account whenever i am trying to connected to my Paypal account i am getting the following message as

paypal fatal error: uncaught soapfault exception: [http] could not connect to host

I don't know why i am getting this message, early i was not getting such kind of message.Can anyone help me out with this issue.

I guess you assign port 443 since it is sent across https and i guess the problem should get solved.

I guess there is some OpenSSL not being compiled into PHPbecause if which you are getting this error message . If you are calling a secure site (https://), this error can come up if OpenSSL is not compiled into php.In windows, enabling the OpenSSL.dll extention made it work.
