    Adobe illustrator page tiling

    Hi,

Does anyone knows how to edit page tiling in Adobe Illustrator ? Or How to create a multiple-page PDF file from an Illustrator file with multiple-page tiles ?

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Re: Adobe illustrator page tiling

    Hi,

To create multiple-page PDF files from an Illustrator file with multiple-page tiles:

    In Illustrator CS2, CS3:
    1. In Illustrator, create a new document or open an existing Illustrator file with multiple-page tiles.
    2. If you create a new document, specify a custom width and height large enough for all the pages in the PDF file in the New Document dialog box. For example, to create a four-page 8.5 "x 11" document, enter 34 inches for Width and 11 inches for Height.
    3. If you use an existing file with multiple-page tiles, proceed to step 8.
    4. Choose View> Show Page Tiling.
    5. Choose File> Print.
    6. In the Media section of the Print dialog box, select the orientation and the page size of the individual pages. For example, click Portrait Up in the Orientation section, and choose US Letter from the Size menu.
    7. Click Setup, and then choose Tile Full Pages from the Tiling menu.
    8. Click Done to close the Print dialog box. Illustrator numbers the pages from left to right and from top to bottom, starting with page 1. These page numbers appear on-screen for reference only.
    9. Note: If the tiles aren't properly aligned on the artboard, either double-click the Page tool to snap the tiles to the upper left corner of the artboard, or use the Page tool to move the pages manually.
    10. Create or import artwork into the document.
    11. Choose File> Save.
    12. Select Adobe PDF from the Save as type pull down menu.
    13. Select the Create Multi-page PDF from Page Tiles option in the General section.
    14. Click Save PDF.

To create PDFs with multiple pages in AI CS2

In this example you create a PDF file, 10 pages in A4 size

1 Go to "File> New" or "File> Document Setup" if the document already exists, select A4 in Size in Units select centimeters in Orientation select Portrait Height and type 10 times the value that is in this field (complete the field with "* 10" without the quotes in the case will be well "* 29.7 cm 10 ", the Illustrator accepts simple numerical expressions in numerical input fields). Click OK.

2 "File> Print" in General selicone A4, Setup and select Tile full pages for Tiling. Click Done and go to "View> Show Page Tiling" to see how it is.

3 "File> Save As, select PDF and click on Save. Then appears the dialog box "Save Adobe PDF", check "Create Multi-page PDF from Page Tiles", click Save PDF.

These procedures are for other sizes and quantities of pages, just do the calculations, and to landscape.

Page Obs.Se Tiles come out of the limits of the page, go to "File> Print" in General guide to select another page.
