How to play movies in powerpoint

I am anything in computer & trying to learn many basic things in it. but today i am stuck at a place where i don't get any solution from anywhere. i am given a project & has to add some video for its presentation..,...?

Can anyone tel me how to play video in PowerPoint...??

There are many ways to play movies in power point presentation. If video format is .avi or .wmv which is compatible with PowerPoint, you can insert the clip into PowerPoint, and it will play within the presentation. If it is the QuickTime "MOV" extension not compatible you may be able use the movie but will need to launch it in a separate player. It's possible however that you might be using a version of AVI or WMV which the machine on which you are to present will not play, so as always check your presentation on that machine.

If you already have an*.avi file,
go to PowerPoint > INSERT > MOVIES & SOUNDS > "Movie from a file"
And there you have it.
