    moviemaker rollback Problem

    I had before vista ultimate as os, now i have xp sp3 with latest ud and i have made some projects with that vista version of moviemaker and now i want to finnis the projects but cant open these projects with xp version of movie maker..... what should i do? I don't want vista anymore because it wont work so good as xp works

    Hello , XP projects are compatible with the MM Vista, but once you save them in Vista you can not go back to XP, at least I haven't been able to as of yet. And sorry Strider but no they are not really the same program, similar, but the one that comes with Vista is a newer version. THe Vista M6 .mswmm project files will not work in WinXP MM2.1 but if you publish the file as a movie, you should be able to play it on XP.

    I've seen a report that disabling the ffdshow codec could be the fix. To accomplish this, open Movie Maker and go to Tools -> Options -> Compatibility tab and uncheck ffdshow -> OK.

    If nothing changes, try uninstalling IE7 if it is installed in XP. There are some known issues with it.
