    Start Explorer in Drive View and hide drive letter in Windows 7

    I am using Windows 7 on my laptop. I want change the traditional look of my explorer. So, I want to open my windows explorer directly in drive view instead of document folder. This also easy to access my files directly through My Computer.
    Plus how can i hide a drive letter. And if don't find it good how can get back and unhide the drive letter as it was before. Is this type of setting are also available in Windows XP.

    It is quiet simple.
    By follow the basic setting you can open your explorer directly in the drive view.
    Click on Start Menu > type in Windows Explorer.
    Right click on the Windows explorer's shortcut > Select Properties
    Go on the Shortcut tab. Change the target to -
    %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /root,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}
    Click OK.

    To hide a drive letter in Win xp follow the below steps:
    Click on Start Menu > Run
    In the Run dialog box type gpedit.msc and press enter.
    Click on User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > WindowsExplorer.
    Select the option Hide these specified drives in My Computer and Prevent access to drives from My Computer
    The first option will allow the other user to see the drive and the other option prevent the user to access the drive. It will give an error message when he tries to access it.
    Hide option will make the icon disappear so no one can see it.
    In the setting tab, next Enable you will get several options about this feature.
