Net browsers: is there one worth a flip

An older version of IE I can download somewhere maybe? My 64 bit version isn't always compatible w/some things and I have given up on the garbage that is Firefox, which frequently hangs, has security issues, etc.

Is there maybe some freeware thing out there worthwhile? I don't need bells and whistles, just reliability.

Previously, I was using Internet Explorer as my net browser. Then I started using Opera. I find Opera as one of the best internet browser with excellent tabbing features andgreat speed. I have never tried Firefox..
