    Firewire problems under windows 7

    Hello. I use an Acer desktop machine with windows 7 as the operating system. The problem is with the firewire. It is not working fine with my system It seems that my operating system has blocked the application. With any hardware device plugged to the system it do not respond properly. Please help.

    You could make the firewire to work by changing the firewire driver using alt or legacy sort of keywords. The driver that you may be using may not compatible with the operating system like windows 7. You need to check out for its compatibility feature. Install the latest firewire update keeping the thing in prospect that the system is compatible too with it.

    For the further information I will tell you that there are three different firewire drivers available which show the same date but the legacy seems to work properly. The default firewire and the last one has quite RME firface installation issues that may relate trouble shoot. You can make the things into your favor by just making sure that he driver is proper.

    Trouble shooting your system should help you to work the firewire well. This is because that this may help in removing any bugs that is been appended with the application. Some minor bugs do get attached to it and leads to such problems. So trouble shooting or formatting the system should make the things to work then. Your firewire will now be able to function.

    Follow the following things:

    1) Go to the device manager option and open the IEEE 1394 host controller.
    2) A device would be listed just click on it
    3) Right click on the listed device and select update driver.
    4) Then elect the option browse my computer driver software.
    5) Then select the option through which you can pick the device from the list manually.
    6) Then check for the drivers that is compatible.
    7) Select the device name and install driver.
