Printing issue Vista and Word 2003

I am a PC technician at a Community College. Recently we upgraded to Vista in four labs. We are having an interesting problem that we cannot resolve. Both office 2003 and 2007 are installed in these labs and also in a few XP labs. When trying to print from word 2003 an error comes up "Windows cannot print due to a problem with the current printer setup." It only shows up when printing from word 2003 in Vista. All other applications will print. It does not show up in any of the XP labs that have both offices installed. This error shows up in all our Vista labs. We have different computer and printer models in the different labs. If the users click on the quick print icon it gets this error but allows you to select a printer, if you select the default it then prints. All printer are networked. Any ideas would be helpful.

You may have a damaged printer driver. To complete this procedure, you need your Microsoft Windows CD-ROM, or the media that contains your printer driver. To replace a damaged printer driver: Quit all Windows programs.

    • Click Start, click Printers and Faxes, and then click Add a printer.
    • Right-click your installed printer, and then click Delete. If you are prompted to remove extra files, click Yes.
    • Click Add a printer, and then follow the instructions on the screen to reinstall your printer driver.

Re: Printing issue Vista and Word 2003

Ok the registry damaged fix works, the only issue is that many users log on to these computers. As soon as I log off and log on with another user the error re-occurs. Is there a way to do this for all users? Also why would this only happen on the computers with Vista? Any ideas?
    Thanks

    What i suggest is
    1. re-install the printer software and try
    2. remove the 2003 MS word and use only 2007 to work with the printer
