Have you tried a clean install? or is that what you were trying to do?
also, what is the message at the top and the STOP error code, e.g STOP: 0x000006b
and can you boot into safe mode (press F8 on startup screen, as soon as computer is turned on)?

    SOLUTION

Here is a tested solution to the Intel F6 Storage Driver install error:

"setup cannot copy the file: iastor.sys. To retry, press enter."

    =============

After you create the Intel F6 driver disk, Copy (don't move) all files from the root of the floppy to a subfolder on the floppy as follows:

    A:/$OEM$/TEXTMODE/

In other words, the driver files with be in the root directory A:\
AND in a subfolder TEXTMODE contained within another folder called $OEM$

This is what the floppy will look like now:

    Contents of (A:\)

    <$OEM$>
    iaahci.cat
    iaahci.inf
    iastor.cat
    iastor.inf
    iastor.sys
    readme.txt
    txtsetup.oem

    Contents of A:\$OEM$\TEXTMODE

    iaahci.cat
    iaahci.inf
    iastor.cat
    iastor.inf
    iastor.sys
    readme.txt
    txtsetup.oem

    OR

I dealt with this problem. Either your disks are missing these files, they are corrupted, your disks are corrupted or worse, your RAM is bad

Make a new CD and try.

Re: "Can not copy the file: iastor.sys" with Vista

    Do this setting in BIOS:

    SATA Mode: IDE
    > On-chip Serial ATA: Auto

    OR

Use a utility called WinFutuire xp-Iso Builder to create my SlipStream disk. The nice thing about this utility is that it let me put the Intel RAID drivers on the XP Installation disk along with SP2. Anyway, when it got to the part where I selected the installation partition, I clicked ENTER and waited for the error message to pop up. But IT DIDN'T! Yeah!!!! So now, I'm installing all of my drivers and making the yellow exclamtion marks go away. The system seems to be very fast but then, that may be because this is a new installation of XP and the registry is small.

One last question, since I installed the RAID drivers manually, should I insyall the Intel IAA RAID Edition that is on the Setup disk for the MOBO or should I just leave well enough alone? There is no exclamation mark next to the Intel RAID driver on my System settings.

Yet Again anthoer problem with installing XP with Raid/Sata drivers.

1.)Fix Floppy Disk. - Check the TXTSETUP.OEM file This can often be incorrect.

2.)Once XP is loaded. Slipstream the drivers into XP Installation to prevent any further errors
