"The answer is out there, and it's looking for you, and it will find you if you want it to."
My guess is that it's something related the the char-set, not the font. If you have an email that fails, try replying to it both from ACT! and Outlook... then have the other person send the charset from both (if one fails and the other is ok)
You might also make sure you have the latest Hotfix for ACT! 8.0 as per http://tinyurl.com/683xp3 - you only need the Hotfix 5 as it includes the previous ones.
Position the cursor where you want to insert the check box.
Click on View - Toolbars - Forms. The Forms toolbar appears on the screen.
Click on the checked box on the Forms toolbar. This inserts an unchecked box in your document.
Double-click on the inserted box. This opens the Check Box Form Field Options menu. Select "Checked". This inserts a check mark in the box.
Very useful when you have both checked and unchecked boxes in your list.
First check to see that the users is using the latest SP

Actually sounds like you are using Word already as the defualt email editor.
If this is the case, Go to Tools>Options>Mail Format
Untick the box that says, Use Microsoft Word 2003 to edit emails.
Apply, OK
Close and reopen Outlook
Now test and see if this problem goes away.
