How to recover my received messages from Outlook Express

    hello
I had really very important messages in my limps reception (outlook espress). But due to some viruses in my pc I was forced to format the pc. Now all my hard drive is wiped and therefore my outlook express received messages have also disappeared. So can anyone tell me if this messages can be retrieved from this pc. Thank you for any help.

Go try Final Recovery. Check it out http://www.finaldata.com/sub_product...&pc1_code=winc. I tried using it after I formatted my hardisk. I can't gurantee it recovers 100% but I managed to get what I wanted back. But do take note of your diskspace.

If all have worked properly before entering you e-mail service so I assume that it’s a virus or a malware application.
I don’t know if you use any Anti virus software but you should!!! It’s very important to have such application and also it’s very important to update your anti virus software every day.

The wrong settings in the outlook are other possibility.

What operating system are you using?

How many Identities do you have set up?

If you do a Find Files on *.dbx files what directory(ies) are they showing in? The .dbx files also need to have a size of at least 137kb to contain messages.

What happens when you try the File>Import>Messages?

Have you tried creating a new Identity and then File>Import>Messages from your main Identity to see what results you come up with?

Also to avoid losing your Inbox and its contents
    Tweak your Identity:
Tools>Options>Maintenance tab, remove the checkmark for "Compact messages in the background"
This is a default setting each time a new identity is created.
