you can originally download the setups from the Office web site, and
once installed it can delet the old setup EXEs. To get proper Uninstall to work, you have to redownload the setup EXEs and run them again.

    Re: Office 2007 Setup Error

    hi try this

    1. Use Start=>Programs=>Accessories=>Disk Cleanup clear your Internet files and temp files.
    2. Locate your 2007 Office Professional Beta 2 download file and note the folder/path location.
    3. Create a new folder on your PC and note that folder/path location.
    4. Use Start=>Run , and on a single line type in the following (using the path & file names from Step 2 & 3)and leaving out the brackets

    "drive:\Step2PathOfDownload\downloadfilename.exe" /extract:"Step3path"

example: (assuming you saved to a 'downloads' folder and created a new folder named ff2007ProB2CD1) the Start=>Run line would look like this
    "c:\downloads\OPPLUS-EN.EXE" /extract:"C:\Off2007ProB2CD1"

If the extraction is successful (you'll get a dialog box telling you it was after a few minutes) then
    a. Backup your files and shutdown all other running apps and utilities including antivirus.
    b. Run setup from your new 2007 Office system folder you
    created in the previous steps
Else, if the extraction doesn't succeed then the download may be damaged/corrupted.
Use Start=>Run and type %temp% and locate the Setup-xxxxx.log(file) just created and see if it has any clues on where the extraction failed.

    Re: Office 2007 Setup Error

Seems like Office Setup isn't finding some of the required files to do the uninstall...

Place your .msp file inside the updates folder and no additional command lines will be required. This holds true for all MS 2007 products.

    Re: Office 2007 Setup Error

Uninstalling Office products without using Add or Remove Programs (Programs and Features in Vista) is a bit complicated, but it can be done. You'll find full instructions for both Vista and XP in this Microsoft Article under the heading "More Information".

Determine whether you are running a trial version of a 2007 Office product
If the 2007 Office product runs in reduced functionality mode, you may be using an expired trial version of the 2007 Office product.

Step 1: Check the version of 2007 Office
Check whether you are using a trial version of the 2007 Office product by following these steps:
    1. Start Microsoft Office Word 2007.
    2. Click the Microsoft Office Button.
    3. Click program name Options.
    4. In the Navigation Pane, click Resources.
    5. Click About next to about Microsoft Office Word 2007.

Step 2: Check whether the trial version of 2007 Office has expired
    1. Start Word 2007.
    2. Click the Microsoft Office Button.
    3. Click program name Options.
    4. In the navigation pane, click Resources.
    5. Click Activate next to activate Microsoft Office.
