How to Delete Video Drivers from Command Prompt

    Hi,

I wanted to delete the video drivers that are available with my system through the Command prompt, because everytime i don't need to go the system configuration and delete the related drivers from there, so it would be much more helpful for me if anyone light up there..

    Regards

Can you boot into safe mode? That should allow you to at least see everything. Then you can uninstall the video card in the device manager, and check the "delete driver software" checkbox and it should uninstall the drivers for you.

This is not possible in the Windows platform to remove the drivers for any hardware peripheral using Command prompt but it is possible in the Linux platform so will recommend you to Use aptitude/synaptic to remove it.

Also you can instruct X to use a generic driver in place of the offending driver by:

    sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

If things are still screwed-up in safemode, it might not be a driver issue as windows isn't supposed to load graphic drivers in safe mode.
