    Error 10061 VNC Connection Refused

I am running RealVNC server with 3 computers & client on the 4th. all of them connect with each of the server machines except for combination.

My Win98se Laptop is not getting connected to the NT 4.0 server.

It connects to all the machine with both of my two NT 4.0 server & my XP machines, But when trying to connect to the Win98se machine to NT 4.0 server. I get the Error saying "connection refused(error 10061)".

i have connected the network behind the firewall but all machines are on the same side so there should be problem with firefall/router issues.

    Can any one Help me...!

Re: Error 10061 VNC Connection Refused

Error 10061 means that the server computer was contactable, but not accepting connections on the port you were trying to connect to. This might be because VNC Server 4 was not running, or because it couldn't open the required port.

Given that you are running 3.3.3R3 alongside 4, I'd guess that you started 4
after you started 3.3.3R3 and that you haven't told 4 to run on a different
port number yet - in that case it will try to open the same port as 3.3.3R3,
fail, and not try to re-open that port until it is restarted or a setting is
    changed.

Do you have the firewall enabled? Perhaps that's what's kicking you off. Also, make sure the vnc service running.

Re: Error 10061 VNC Connection Refused

10061 is a TCP/IP error which implies that there is a TCP/IP connectivity issue between the local and remote machines.

Can you ping the server from the laptop? And the other way?

Is there a firewall/router between the subnets which is blocking the access?

Is the VNC server on the Win98se machine properly configured to accept remote access via VNC?

Re: Error 10061 VNC Connection Refused

Right click on the VNC icon in the system tray of the server and go to Options>>Connections. Make sure there's a checkmark in the "Accept connections on port." The text box there should say "5900" in it
