Export settings for user accounts of xp to vista

I wonder if it is possible to transfer the settings for a user account from one computer to another from xp with vista. While searching I found the utility assistant transfer files and settings "but I would like to know if, once transferred in vista, the file could be created somewhere else by xp. Is there such an application in vista that can manage the configuration files from xp? Thank you very much
To the rational mind there can be no offense,
    no obscenity, no blasphemy,
but only information of greater or lesser
    value.

    1. Control Panel\System.
    2. Click on Advanced System Settings.
    3. Click Settings button under the User Profiles section.
    4. Click the profile you want to copy.
    5. Click Copy to and type in or browse for the profile you want to overwrite.
    6. Click the Permitted to use button and add all user accounts that you want to give full control of the profile to.
    7. Click Ok.

That should be it. You may want to try this on a test profile before you do it on anything you are actually using. It will completely overwrite the target profile so make sure you don't have anything important stored there. Hope that helps.

Follow these steps and you should have no problem:
    1. Open Control Panel and click on User Accounts
    2. Click on Create a new account
    3. Label this User Account anything you want
    4. Set the access for this User Account and then click Create Account
    5. Once you get back to the main screen, repeat the process. This time, you are going to create a dummy account. You will delete it once this process is complete.
    6. Close the Control Panel
    7. Restart the computer
    8. When you get to the Log-In screen, log into the User Account that you created...not the dummy account
    9. When the computer restarts Right Click on My Computer and click Properties
    10. Click on the Advanced tab
    11. Within the User Profiles section, click Settings
    12. Within this section, you can copy all the data from one account to another. Highlight the original User Account, the one that was causing problems, and click Copy To
    13. A browse window will open and navigate to the User Account you are currently using. (C:/Documents and Settings/User Account)
    14. Once you click OK, you will get a disclaimer message telling you that files are about to be copied. Once the process starts, do not do anything until it is complete. The larger the original account, the longer it will take to complete the copy.
    15. Once the copy is complete, you will be able to click OK twice to close the windows
    16. Open Control Panel again and click on User Accounts
    17. Delete both the original User Account and the dummy account.

I know this seems like a lot of steps but, believe me, you will save yourself a lot of time, and potentially money, versus reinstalling Windows.

Check the Users applet in Control Panel. If I remember correctly, it allows you to copy user settings.

Right-Click "My Computer" "User Profiles" and "Copy To"

    Just hope it has worked!
