TuneUp Utilities 2009 - Drive Defrag hangs

Hello,

I use the TuneUp Utilities 2009 and now wanted my heavily defragmented disk tuning. Even after two attempts TuneUp hangs. It shows me consistently stated that it needed about 5 hours. But even after 1 1 / 2 hours it always hangs at 0.2%, which can not be yes. I hear no hard drive activity. The icon blinks in the program, but is no longer recognizable. I've once again broken off and had to reboot. Is this problem known?

Have you tried uninstalling and again reinstalling TuneUp Utilities 2009 ?

Depends on how you would identify the problem ....

There are many reasons:
- In principle, before a Defrag Scandisk always with repair
- Partition too big? = I'm using max. 100 GB
- Hard disk broken! = New buy
- Hard disk runs hot? = Poor cooling
- TuneUp broken? = Reinstall
- Not enough free space on hard drive
- Operating system and TuneUp will not tolerate
- Etc.

Use SpinRight, it will recover corrupted data...it will refresh the whole HD and -prevent- corruption.

I have used SpinRite on two drives that failed to boot/gave "no disk" system errors after an electric stom and they are running just fine with no data loss.

I only say use XP as it takes less ram and runs everything both faster and without driver/hardware problems.
