Changing Your View Settings - There are several default View settings used by Outlook Express that you might want to change.

    1. Select View / Layout.
    2. From here you can select what options you want to see each time you start Outlook Express.
    3. You can also change the Preview Pane. Due to some of the newer viruses being spread via e-mail, I would recommend turning this off.

Re: How to change default View Settings in OE 6 ?

By default, Outlook Express sets the default font size for all email and newsgroup message to a 10-point font. For some, this font is too small to be read comfortably and others may want to have a smaller default font. Follow the steps below to change the font size in Outlook Express to a font that better suits your needs.

    • Open Outlook Express onto your desktop so you can make the changes to increase the font size.

    • Choose the "Tools" menu and click on "Options…" to open the "Options" dialog box so you can change font size.

    • Click on the "Compose" tab to view the font settings for Outlook Express.

    • Use your mouse to choose the "Font Settings" button, right next to "Mail:" and under "Compose Font."

    • Choose the font size that you wish to change to from the drop-down menu.

    • Click the "OK" button to close the "Options" dialog box and change the font size to your Outlook Express emails and newsgroup messages.
