Hello , I have a similar When opening up PDF's from a few sites (listed further down), they open in the browser (which is what we want). When you click the "Save Copy" button (depicted by the disk on the toolbar), nothing happens. Doesn't prompt for a save location, nothing. Some sites work, some don't. So I tried older version of Reader (8.x) - worked fine with all sites. Found out eventually that if we turn off "Protected Mode" in IE7, it works fine... However, we shouldn't have to make our PC's vulnerable to be able to save PDF files.
Hello , Can you check in manage add-ons that you do not have the acrobat reader disabled?
Hello , In Adobe Reader 8.0 (The latest Version) click on Edit, and go to Preferences, than on the left side of the screen find the Internet tab and select it. You want to UNCHECK the default option that says, "Open PDF files in the browser." When you do this, Adobe Reader will configure itself to open all Pdf files in their own Reader Window and NOT in IE 7. (This is how older versions of Adobe Reader used to do this anyway.) This says to Adobe Reader, "I am gonna control all elements of how a Pdf file works without relying on the browser." It's a good workaround. If you have IE 6 and functionality works ok between Adobe Reader and IE 6, you can leave the "Open From Within The Browser" option selected.
Please check the addons for the internet explorer 7, if not try to install it .
