Is firefox 3.0.6 safe for banking purposes?

Hey guys!
I recently upgraded my browser from Internet Explorer 6 to Internet Explorer 8 Beta. It has no issues from any website, but when i access my bank account, it prompts me to use a better secured browser and suggests me to use netscafe or firefox. Is it not a safe browser? Please help!

Its better to be sure then to be at risk...! Downgrade IE again to the previous version. Download the IE 8 when it is in final version, it is not recommended to use a Beta version of a browser for browsing sensitive data, especially bank accounts!

Thanks, was thinking about the same! I'll downgrade my IE untill my bank doesn't tell me its a safe browser... Thanks again..! I can't risk my bank accounts at all, that to at the sake of fun...!

I think the reason you got the security message from your banking website is that they mis-identified your web-browser with it being a fairly new version. The same thing used to happen when people updated to Firefox 3.0.6
In reality the security warning is nonsense. IE8 is just as secure as IE7, if not more so. You've downgraded your IE8 uneccessarily in my view, but it's your choice ofcourse.
