    System doesnot Accept Webcam

I have a Windows Vista operating system machine, and bought a Philips SPC230NC webcam to use on this machine.

The setup disc is not able to complete as I get an
    "Unhandled Exception": Error Number 0x80040701
    Description : SRT._ReleaseObjectContext

then, after I hit OK I get the same error with a description that reads:
    ISRT._ListDestroy

    And the system reboots

The Webcam service depends on the drivers for the various webcams. It does not communicate directly with a webcam. The problem that you are seeing probably reflects a bug in the original driver. Have you tried to get the latest drivers from the manufacturers of the webcams concerned?

The WebcamPipeServer should handle exceptions. This does not mean it will work with all webcams, but at least it should not fall over. I will pass this on to the developer.

There is no "default USB camera driver" as such because all webcam hardware is different. In recent times there has been a standard established for USB camera devices at the hardware level, but old webcams will not conform to this. Therefore you have no option other than to rely on the manufacturer to supply the drivers for older cameras and these must be supported under DirectX 9.

I'm not sure what that could be. I had a similar problem when I was setting up an HP Printer not too long ago. I kept getting a blue screen of death, and no matter how many updates, patches and walk throughs I tried, nothing worked. I finally got a tech at HP that told me to edit some registry values, and the next time I tried, it worked.
Do you keep your WinXP up to date? What kind of motherboard do you have?

it seems that your Bios boot key is similar to windows xp boot menu key which is F8

reboot your computer and keep pressing F8 , when it ask you too bot from floppy hard disc etc.. , choose hard disc and and the same time you choose hard disc quickly enough keep pressing F8 you will manage to get into microsoft windows xp home edition boot menu. then you can choose safe mode.
