    Question relating to sfc /scannow

I wish to repair XP by making sfc /scannow (problem on IE).

I found article 897128 of Microsoft which says to me how to make to rectify the files Fp40ext.inf and Ims.inf.

If I have well how much the operation, I will want (not to make an error) whom you can give me an example (copies some/to stick of what must replace in the files), because the article is strong succinct.

I have CD OEM family Windows XP with SP1, and while going in the Ims.inf file, I could see that the section [Strings] refers to Windows XP Professionnal SP3, and even if SP3 is well installed on Windows, I do not have CD OEM Windows XP Familial with integrated SP3.

My question is: 1°) Which do I have to replace EXACTLY BY WHAT in the files Fp40ext.inf and Ims.inf? 2°) If I introduce CD OEM family Windows XP with SP1, will the SP3 be preserved or it will be replaced by the SP1?

Thank you very much for your answer.

Your Cd will not be accepted.

You did not give the URL of the article to which you refer, then I do not know only one asks you exactly.
If you must replace them, its two files are also WINDOWS \ ServicePackFiles \ i386, if you make a checking of the system files, it is this way which it is necessary to show
