| World's Smallest Operating System?
I have one old computer with only 128 MB RAM. And i plan to install linux on it. Which is the world's smallest linux operationg system. If its not linux then too it will do... Cause i have only 10GB hard disk and a CD-RW... This is my old computer and i will use this only for some multimedia application like hearing music. i don't play to use a monitor for that too... Any help?? Thanks in advance...!! |

Hey there...!! Well yes there is a small Operating system for your granny age computer. Know as DSL Damn Small Linux. Damn Small Linux or DSL is a free operating system for the x86 family of personal computers. It was designed to run graphical applications on older PC hardware for example, machines with 486/early Pentium processors and very little memory. DSL is a Live CD with a size of 50 MB. What originally started as an experiment to see how much software could fit in 50 MB eventually became a full-fledged GNU/Linux distribution. If I had a computer like that I would probably install Puppy Linux on it, even though it is a little larger than DSL and Kolibri. |
