| "Socket error: 10061, Error number 0x800CCC0E" in OE
In outlook express when checking for email with my ISP (BT) i get the error message cannot connect to server in front of the above. |

Do you have any firewall or anti virus software on your computer. Is so try disabling them. If you have Norton Anti virus installed, it may have messed up and needs removing and rebooted. Something is blocking your mail client from accessing these ports. You need to find what and stop it. |

You receive a "Socket error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800ccc0e" error message when you try to send or receive e-mail in Outlook or in Outlook Express... http://support.microsoft.com/kb/191687 - You will get some information here.

This really sounds like there is a firewall in the way blocking network traffic. While this error is happening, try telneting (from the server) to localhost port 25 and see if things manually work correctly. If they do manually work correctly try the client again. If the client is still unable to communicate then there is definitely a problem between the client and the server OR the server is not accepting the connection for some reason. A network sniffer will come in very handy if this problem persists. |

getting this error message while connection outlook 2003 for pop3 socket error :10060... we have ISA 2004, and some external users, who do not have access to our domain wanted to access their email through POP3. How can I create rule for them. |
