How to import outlook pst in Mozilla thunderbird

Hello
i was the regular user of outlook 2003 but now i have switch to thunderbird although i am getting my new mails regularly but i also want to read and forward some of my old mail.
so Is there any way I can import my Outlook PST files to Thunder bird?
All I really need is my old email and the calender also to be sync with outlook.

Please help me with this immediately.

Hi there! Mozilla Thunderbird can access PST files. Just install Mozilla on your computer, read the PST files and copy the mails from these files to local mailbox files. Once you are done, just copy these PST files from Outlook directory into Thunderbird mail files. One more option is to convert PST file in file with MBX extension.

One important thing. Before importing PST file in Thunderbird, make a copy of same file. Just in case. Don’t forget to have installed Outlook when you are going to import PST file.

Import it into Outlook Express, and then import it from Outlook Express into Thunderbird. That solves most Outlook import problems.

It also doesn't hurt to doublecheck "view->message body as" is set to "original html".

The only way for you to reclaim your email just try to make the temporary installation of Outlook on your existing PC where you want the import to happen. Once the import is complete, you can safely remove the program entirely, and your Thunderbird will be running fine.

How about calender?
I have installed calender add-on Lightining 0.9 in thunderbird.
Is the calender will get synchronize automatically when you configure the email account using pop3 and smtp?
