Windows Defender Error Code 0x800106ba

Hello,I have been Facing this error With Windows Defender, Whenever i Try to Run i would get the following error message Windows Defender was installed automatically, removing the Windows Antispyware thas was installed. But it failed to iinitialize , So kindly help on what does it mean and How to solve the issue.Thanks in Advance For your replies

I have had the same problem, and when i type "net start windefend" in the
command prompt (black and white screen), I get:

The Windows Defender Service service is starting.
The Windows Defender Service service could not be started.

A system error has occurred.

System error 2 has occurred.

The system cannot find the file specified.

I found a weird but successful way of solving the issue. I just uninstalled and reinstalled the software by downloading it again from www.microsoft.com

He is Correct Uninstall Windows Defender, and then reinstall Windows Defender. This Might Solve your problem
To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
2. Click Windows Defender, and then click Remove.
3. Follow the prompts to uninstall Windows Defender.
4. To reinstall Windows Defender, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
   http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...yware/software

If in your Vista, your Windows Defender fails to initialize and you get the error message:

Error Code 0x800106ba Application failed to initialize

Then you may have to re-register a few related dll files.

Copy paste each of the following, one after the other in Vista's start menu search bar and hit Enter.

• regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
• regsvr32 wucltui.dll
• regsvr32 softpub.dll
• regsvr32 wintrust.dll
• regsvr32 initpki.dll
• regsvr32 wups.dll
• regsvr32 wuweb.dll
