.MDF files generally differ from the other types of image files out there (ISOs and BINs). MDF image files are created by a virtual CD/DVD image editor, therefore resulting in another editor to open them. In order for you to open .MDF files, there are certain things you need to get first. Magic Iso - get it for free at http://www.magiciso.com/download.htm

Here i have found this solution so :

    • Download PowerISO.
    • Rename your image [filename].mdf to [filename].iso.
    • Mount the iso-image with PowerISO.

I agree it is a quick and dirty way of solving the problem, but since I believe there are no other solutions.

You can use winrar. I usually install it so it is not associated with

    .cab
    .iso
    .zip

files. I prefer not to trash the normal native associations that windows uses out of the box. You can still open these file types with winrar by right clicking and open with winrar.

Actually, you just open poweriso, magicdisc, or anything else and manually click mount image.... select your image..... and done
