cannot open default e-mail folders in outlook 2007

When we tried to open Outlook 2007, entered the user name and password, which we know works, we got the following error.
"Cannot Open your default email folders. You must connect to Microsoft Exchange with the current profile before you can synchronize your folders with your offline folders." This happened with two different accounts at two different desks. The only thing that is different between their network and ours is they are part of a domain.

What exactly does the ACL for the file and the folders above show? What permissions do you have for the file (including the advanced settings)? what permissions are unchecked?

Try Control Panel (Classic View) Mail Icon, configure the correct type of
Connection add the accounts & data File, then test accounts

Your default emai folder is your PST file and is usually located in the following path (change my name for yours)

C:\Documents and Settings\ididmyc600\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.

Its possible that you dont have the rights to the folder or the drive.or similar.
