    Windows Media Player in Vista won't start

    Hi,
    In windows vista my windows media player is not starting when i clicks on its icon to launch it a loading circle come and then nothing happens. I don't know what's the problem a few days ago it was working fine. any idea what's going on my PC? is it because of any virus or something? Please give me some useful suggestions?

    You can also use System Restore to roll back to the previous version of the Player. For more information about System Restore, see Use System Restore to Undo Changes if Problems Occur.

    Windows Media Player is a feature of the Windows operating system and cannot be removed entirely.

    First uninstall your windows media player 11 and download "windows registry repair pro" or something like that from download.com and clean your registry.Again install windows media player 11 and trying running it again.

    try this :
    Paste the following command in command prompt

    regsvr32 /s %systemroot%\system32\wm*.dll
    Hope this will help

    When this happens, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to start Task Manager, select the Processes tab and you’ll find the wmplayer.exe process is already running (although it doesn’t appear on the Applications tab). Select it and choose End Process.
