Read docx file with MS Office Word 2003

Hi,
Is it possible to read docx file with MS office 2003? I don't think so it is possible but my friend is saying it is possible but i'm not finding the way for it. If someone know how to do this then please show me the way to do it.

For the sake of compatibility, Microsoft has made in November 2007 to provide a patch allowing users to read and save documents in the new formats with Office 2003.

This patch, called "Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats", is downloadable free from Microsoft.

Yes, the Office 2007 Compatibility pack will work with Office 2000, Office XP/2002 and Office 2003 provided that you're running Windows 2000 or higher as the operating system.

Note, however, that any Word 2007-specific features (such as bibliography, Escher graphics, content controls, and new-style equations) will either be lost or converted to something Word 2003 can handle.
