MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14):
Mp4 is used for audio and video. This file type enables for high quality streaming over the internet and next generation cell phones. There are 2 main types of MP4 files. The first type is called Simple Profile, which is used for low resolution digital video content, popularly used for online distribution. The second version is called Advanced Video Coding , which is a higher quality format used for HDTV content.
MP3s are for audio files used on MP3 players and software, and MP4s are for audio/video files used for internet streaming and high tech cell phones.
To Convert MP4 to MP3:
- Buy a file format converter program from an electronics store or website. Read the product features to confirm that the software can convert MP4 files to MP3.
- Install the converter software to your computer. After the program is installed, restart your computer.
- Create a folder on your desktop and enter the MP4 audio and video files you wish to convert to MP3 format. Run the converter software and follow the directions to convert the files one-by-one or as a group.
- Set up a pop-up window to alert you when the file conversion finishes. (Your Choice)
- Save the converted MP3 files in a separate folder.
