Adobe Photoshop CS3 not working in Vista 64bit

Anyways all of the programs (within AMSC CS3 Ext) run fine on my computer I installed on my computer AMSC CS3 Ext (Adobe Master Suite Collection CS3 Extended) which is running on Vista 64 bit OS. All the programs in AMSC CS3 works fine on my computer but Photoshop CS3.

When I run Photoshop CS3, it starts like normal. Loads the component fine but when it gets to 'Building TWAIN menu items' it hangs there. Then a transparent white screen comes and then it says there was a problem and Photoshop CS3 has stopped working. Then it closes the program.

How can I get Photoshop CS3 to work on my Vista 64 bit? I need it eagerly

Refer this guide from Adobe itself on how to optimize the performance of Photoshop CS3 on Vista. I think you may get there the solution for getting your Photoshop CS3 work on your Vista 64.

I suspect people are hot for 64-bit OS because of the possibility of using more memory. However, 32-bit applications aren't going to use it, So unless for some reason you need to have Windows itself using 4GB of ram a 64-bit OS right now is a waste. Not to mention finding drivers for many things.

I tried this and the link given to me explains a error code. The problem with my CS3 on x64 is that is just loads up and closes all after sometime. There comes no error codes

Now that that is out of the way, have you tried running Photoshop with administrative privileges to see if it works / needs to run for the first time with admin level privileges to perform a final setup before it can run?

Before installing in Vista Ultimate X64 -
    Click Start in bottom left
    Search for cmd
Right click and run as administrator
    type or copy and paste
    cd C:\Windows\SysWow64
    then copy and paste
    regsvr32 jscript.dll
    then copy and paste
    regsvr32 vbscript.dll
Now you can install Photoshop CS3 by double clicking on setup and this may work properly.
