There are a lot of add-ons for firefox. Depends on what kind of add-ons you want to know about. We cant just list all the add-ons. You should explore the addons for yourself from the firefox site. The link Shubodh posted will be a good start.

The ones which i use are:
Adblock Plus: To block ads
NoScript: To block flash and javascript, which may be harmful
DownThemAll: Mass downloader
Flashgot: For integrating downloaders with firefox
DownloadHelper: To download images and videos from sites
FEBE: To backup firefox like extensions, bookmarks etc
Foxmarks Bookmark Synchroniser: To sychronise bookmarks online on foxmarks

There are more useful add-ons out there. Go explore.

Hey the inputs from you are very nice. I was not knowing that mozilla provides so many add-ons. Now I will go on the add-ons page and will look out for that you have mentioned and other interesting ones.

Not all, but some javascripts and flash can be harmful, if you visit some malicious sites. They incorporate malicious codes and scripts in javascript, and flash, and these can attack your system.

Firefox has lots and lots of useful add-ons. Just go to their add-ons site, and explore for yourself. You will find many useful add-ons, that will suit your purpose. These extensions make firefox popular and productive.
