Office Home and Student 2007 Size

I recently purchased Office Home and Student 2007. Size per add/remove programs is 165 MB. Size per properties is 308 MB.

Immediately after loading it I received a notice that there were updates for it including a SP1 for 194 MB and various security updates for a total of 251 MB.

Question 1: Why wasn't SP1 included in the CD?

Question 2: Why weren't at least some of the security updates not included?

Both questions we can't answer you have to ask the product manufacturers.
If you want the software to work then just install it. Why are you worried about the size?
