Trouble with iTunes

hi,
I am trying to reinstall itunes on my PC, 8.0.1. i can't seem to get Itunes to run. and it will not complete.i have re-downloaded the installer and tried again won't solve.
I'll click on the icon, and the computer will "think" like it's about to bring it up, then nothing. Then I'd try to pull it up another way, by finding it on the start menu, and same thing. No error messages pop up or anything.

You may need to reinstall iTunes using the Admin login, and install into
Program Files.

Restart your computer and then keep on pressing F8 key. Start your computer in "Safe Mode" and install itunes there.

Try to uninstall comletely by using uninstall 2000 or recently version because you last time installed was not remove at all. It looks likely been removed but that is not true.
Download latest version.

If the uninstall doesn't go through without error, Download and install
MicrosoftInstaller cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program.
