question Removing Entry from Right-Click Start

Hi folks,

I have searched & searched the interent for an answer to my porblem and so far "Zilch" ... meaning I have found no answer.

FYI, my OS is Windows XP SP2 and I have NO Admin Rights ...

I had installed few programs while I still had "Power User" Rights ... so I could install and uninstall programs ...

Then program in Questions are Freeware and unfortuantely they SHELLed themselves into my Start Button without ASKING me ... well the Programs were uninstalled improperly ... and the Trace of some of the Keys were Maunally deleted from Registry (I am not sure if all of the Crap was removed from Registry).

Now I still have lingering Entries in my Right-Click area.

When I Right-Click on the Start button the 2 annoying entries are still there ... see the attached JPG.

Q: How can these 2 Entries be Deleted!?!?

Thanks,

G!

C:\Documents and Settings\*All Users*\Start Menu. ~OR~ Right click Start and select Open All Users. Click 'Set Program Access and Defaults', tick Customize.

Re: Removing Entry from Right-Click Start

  1. Go to “My Computer.” Click “Tools” and then click “Folder Options.”

  2. Click on the tab labeled “File Types.”

  3. Find a file type and select it.

  4. Find one of the entries and select “Remove.”

smile Re: Removing Entry from Right-Click Start

Hi folks,

THANKS for taking the time and replying to my problem.

@ amazing ... I am going to try "System Mechanic Pro" ... but I have a feeling since I have No Admin Rights ... it might not work.

@ chroma ... your Solution looks very promising ... I have to get my Admin guy to let me in and try it ... might work ... could it be that "Simple" ... I hope so!

@ Glenny ... I tried your route ... but there are No File Types associated with my Applications ... and I don't think this would have Solved my isse!

Thank again,

G!
