    Combine Office 2003 and 2007

    hello
for educational reasons I need to keep Office 2003,2007 on the same pc
Yet when I started in 2003 and 2007 after launching it still wants to relocate "configuration Office Professional Plus 2007"
and again it all the time
    What can I do?
    thank you

    hi,
If you have a Windows license available, installs a virtual machine with Virtual PC, for example, and install your version on the non-preferred virtual computer.
That's what I did for the same reasons as you: I have a computer with Vista and Office 2007, and on a Virtual PC with Windows XP and Office 2003.

Re: Combine Office 2003 and 2007

    Hello,
I had the same worries, simply because, when I first installed in 2007. I did not choose "Custom" to indicate a separate facility. So that both versions point to files in the same place, and of course they are incompatible, hence the relocation each time. I have found any records to be amended to correct my mistake manip original, beautiful and I have reinstalled 2007 correctly, it keeps its pointers of the first installations.
So if there is to set up first in 2003 and 2007 with a custom installation, not PB, but if you install the first time in 2007 without customize.
    Best regards

Re: Combine Office 2003 and 2007

    Here is the solution:

it is quite possible with the exception of Outlook that can not be present with only one version of a post.

it is sufficient to define a key value in the registry.

This key is HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Office \ 11.0 \ Word \ Options \ NoReReg and should take the value 1. You can set using regedit, or by running the following command from a command prompt:

    Code:
    reg add HKCU \ Software \ Microsoft \ Office \ 11.0 \ Word \ Options / NoReReg v / t REG_DWORD / d 1
We must change the version number depending on the version of Office 11 to Office 2003, Office 12 and 2007 perform the operation for the two versions, and repeat for all software. In summary, there are 6 to execute commands (you can make a bat):

    Code:
    reg add HKCU \ Software \ Microsoft \ Office \ 11.0 \ Word \ Options / NoReReg v / t REG_DWORD / d 1
    reg add HKCU \ Software \ Microsoft \ Office \ 12.0 \ Word \ Options / NoReReg v / t REG_DWORD / d 1
    reg add HKCU \ Software \ Microsoft \ Office \ 11.0 \ Excel \ Options / NoReReg v / t REG_DWORD / d 1
    reg add HKCU \ Software \ Microsoft \ Office \ 12.0 \ Excel \ Options / NoReReg v / t REG_DWORD / d 1
    reg add HKCU \ Software \ Microsoft \ Office \ 11.0 \ PowerPoint \ Options / NoReReg v / t REG_DWORD / d 1
    reg add HKCU \ Software \ Microsoft \ Office \ 12.0 \ PowerPoint \ Options / NoReReg v / t REG_DWORD / d 1

Unfortunately, Access is insensitive to this key.
