Yahoo Messenger File Corruption Bug

Hey guys!
i have a problem with yahoo messenger.
whenever i send a file to someone or recieve a file using yahoo messenger, windows doesn't recognise the file [shows open with option] but when i select an appropriate program for it it opens well. what could be the issue? i'm using yahoo messenger 9.

I had the same issue, but did a research and found its not a bug. All you need to do is rename the file & give the approriate extension (.xlsx, .docx, .jpg, etc). All the Best!
