unable to delete word file

I have 2 Word files that I can not delete. When I click on "delete" a window opens telling me:
Can not remove (the names of 2 files word in question), the file or directory is corrupted an invisible.

Can anyone provide me solution ?

Which operating System your using ?

Sorry forgot to add running Windows XP

Close out of Word. Do a find for normal.dot and rename it to normal.old or something else. A new template will be created when Word is reopened.
