When Microsoft launched Windows Media Center, one of the alternatives open source was certainly more popular software MediaPortal. This multimedia interface was first developed in February 2004 and based on the source code of XMBC. Nearly five years later, the application has passed version 1.0.

After the pre-final 4 (RC4), the development team has corrected several problems especially with regard to the navigation interface (My Music, My Video), the engine of themes and graphics configuration software. Note that the environment requires MediaPortal. NET and some extensions may not be supported by this new version.

In addition, the team announced that versions 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 are currently being developed to address some bugs that could not be corrected in time.

Someone could tell me what it's worth compared to WMC?

Ok I'm looking for something visually beautiful and I find this view quite successful, but WMC indexing and updated files in the library is not super fast ...Mediaportal is better? I think the best thing I have left to do is to try.
