Why to use third-party software, just have a look on this - http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u..._03july14.mspx, which gives information regarding how to take backup in Windows XP.

The best solution for you is online data backup. Why? Because it will save you time, the software is great, works in background and it's secure, all automatic. Now it depends what you want, you can also buy an external HDD.
