    Application Recovery help

I have a WindowsXP 2003 laptop. I recently got a virus that I couldn't get rid of, so I had to have a friend reinstall my whole computer.

Everything worked well, but when it came time for placing in the recovery CDs, a it would start to load and then a message would come up saying "this system does not support the software you are trying to install."

He managed to install the driver recovery cd manually, but had to leave before he could put in the applications. Now he's gone for the week and I get the same message when I put in the Application Recovery CD.

My question is, assuming there's a way to load the applications manually, how would I go about doing that?

I'm completely computer illiterate, so I might need details.

    Thank you.

It's the Application Recovery CD, so I'm not 100% sure what's on it. I'm assuming it has programs like Microsoft Office and stuff like that. I'd like to install the whole thing, but Microsoft Office is really the only program I HAVE to have installed.

Just open the CD and install applications one by one.
Is it happening with all applications or with some specific application CD. Try to use some another application CD. May be your application CD is corrupted.

Here it goes. When I try to load the CD, it boots up for a moment, then I get this message (see first attachment).

When I click "Explore" for the CD, I get a bunch of files. (These are aren't all of them, but you get the basic idea.) I've tried to hit "Setup", but I get the same message. There's no "install" on any of these files.

(I apologize for having to put the images on an attachment -- I could seem to get it to show up on here.)
